The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied reports making the rounds that it received N10million donation from Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, to organise anti-corruption marathon.
A statement emerged online on Monday by Mr Ganduje’s spokesman, Aminu Yassar, saying governor Ganduje donated the money to EFCC, ICPC and Athletic Federation of Nigeria for the anti-corruption campaign.
But in a swift reaction by EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade, the commission distanced itself from receiving any donation from the state governor.
However, most Nigerians have refused to believe their denial story.
Remember, this is coming after the said Governor Ganduje had been allegedly involved in a bribery scandal.
See what they are saying below…
Wow! So according to the @thecableng, Gandollar @GovUmarGanduje has donated ₦10 million to @EFCCNigeria! The things that happen in @MBuhari’s government is worse than a badly scripted Nollywood movie! Retweet if you know this is madness #RenosDarts https://t.co/yjwGLwflVQ

I call on the EFCC and the ICPC to do the honorable thing and return Ganduje’s ‘donation’ to him. That donation is an insult. In fact, if the money is not returned to him, it should be used to hire a private prosecutor to try him.
