Former IGP Already contesting for Senatorial seat few weeks into Retirement

The former Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has caused a stir on social media after posters indicating his interest in the Yobe Senatorial district primaries emerged on social media.

Usman Baba may be seeking to contest in the Yobe South senatorial district election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) following the resignation of the current senator, Ibrahim Geidam to become a minister.

Recall that Geidam, who is the serving senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District in Yobe State, was among the second batch of ministerial nominees forwarded to the red chamber by Bola Tinubu last week.

Such a funny country…. A country where the sitting CBN Governor was reportedly contesting for Presidency even while still in office… Now, the retired IGP couldn’t even wait, just weeks after retirement and now contesting for Senatorial seat….. How would these guys hold the government accountable while in office?
But wait ooo… These guys are resigning and taking up Ministerial positions even when the judgement hasn’t been decided in court or could if be they have all seen the judgement before Nigerians?
Only time would tell…
