4 Days To Go : Cardinal Okpaleke Visits – ST. Martin’s Catholic Church Igboukwu

The parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Christopher Ikeh, The parish pastoral council and the entire parishioners of St. Martins catholic church, Igbo-Ukwu welcomes the Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, His Eminence, Peter Ebele Cardinal Okpaleke to their parish on the 2nd of October, 2022.

Pastoral Visit: Pastoral visit is a visit by The Bishop of a Diocese to a Parish in his Diocese to see and know how the Parish is doing, the problems of the Parish and the happenings in the Parish as the Bishop uses the visit to confer the sacrament of confirmation on candidates prepared by the Parish.

Moreso, the Bishop also uses the opportunity of Pastoral visit to bless and commission projects undertaken by the Parish.

According to laid down church principles, the Parish uses the opportunity of Pastoral visit to pay homage to the Bishop and support the work of the Diocese.

His Eminence would use the opportunity to commission the beautiful Divine Mercy chapel of Adoration in the parish.

This great event would be under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Azike (omeudo Nwachinemelu). Chief Engr. & Lolo Barr. Barth Nwibe (Ugo Igboukwu) as father and mother of the day.

Pontifical High Mass would be By 9:30am.

The Planning committee is encouraging the attendants to be seated at the Church by 8.30am for Rosary before procession starts by 9.15am.

Moreso, All Parishioners, Igboukwu Community, friends of St. Martin’s Catholic Church Igboukwu, Neighboring towns, well-wishers, all and Sundry are all cordially invited to this epoch making event.
