Bandits strike pose with kidnapped Corp Members after getting ransom (pictures)

Photos of bandits striking a pose with kidnapped prospective corps members after receiving ransom has surfaced on social media.

Many are of the view that banditry is becoming a norm in society and should be checked. Some blamed poverty for the act of the bandits as they see it as a means of livelihood.

Two prospective corps members from Benue State were reportedly kidnapped alongside two others in Zamfara State on 21st October.

According to The Punch, The victim’s named Joseph Zaaka Aondona, Sedoo Gundu, Jennifer Awashima Iorliam and Sechivir were abducted at Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The bandits intercepted the vehicle with passengers numbering eight said to be travelling on Benue Links.

The sister of one of the victims, Sember Iorliam told newsmen that her sister, Jennifer Awashima Iorliam, a graduate of Benue State University was posted to Kebbi State for her one-year mandatory National Youth Service Corps scheme when she was kidnapped.

She said, “I was told that eight passengers were in the vehicle including the driver but four of the passengers including the driver escaped.

“It was this morning (Thursday) that they contacted me through my sister phone and demanded N2m from each of the victims and they said that was the last.”

A ransom may have been paid as the victims have regained freedom.

What a country…. Could this really be a country?… What an audacity… Kidnapping people’s kids for business and the government is keeping blind eye…. They even show their faces….. Chai…. this is now a legal business registered with CAC in Nigeria but only exclusive to the Northerners .. Igbos shouldn’t try it hence DSS would knock at your door
