The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria BON held the maiden edition of its annual awards in Lagos yesterday, 17th May, 2023 .
BON’s Executive Secretary, Yemisi Bamgbose in a statement said the Awards were initiated to motivate broadcasters to be better professionals in their chosen careers while appreciating the continued role the broadcast industry has played over the years in deepening national growth.
Raypower’s Okechukwu Eze is one of those nominated for newscaster of the year (radio category) award while his colleague Tolani Adesanya was nominated for reporter of the year award.
In the television category, Ada Ononye of Africa Independent Television AIT is one of those nominated for newscaster of the year.

Over 600 entries were received for the awards while a 7-Man judges committee was set up to determine who the winners will be.
Others who have made significant contributions to the growth of broadcasting in Nigeria will also be recognized at the awards ceremony.
However, Arise TV emerged as the Best Tv station of the year 2022.
