[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he beautiful people of Jkcites, we owe this as part of our corporate social responsibility to help most people in need especially in critical cases as this. Adanna Ifewulu’s case is so severe and painful that saving her life would be of utmost importance now..
However, below is what a kind hearted Nigerian, Stella started in Gofundme.
Read below.. .
Hello, Thanks for stopping by.
My name is Stella and I live in England. I started this page because I was moved to help raise funds for a 3 year old girl called Adanna Ifewulu who lives in Nigeria and has just been diagnosed with Leukamia(cancer of the blood producing cells in the bone marrow) after recurrent visit to the hospital with joint and abdominal pains since August 2017.
Adanna is currently receiving supportive treatment at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital(NAUTH) Nnewi Nigeria and due to all the time that has passed before the appropriate diagnosis was reached, she has suffered some complications and her family wish to take her to a specialist facility in South Africa to initiate the main treatment for this cancer. The cost of treatment has been quoted as 25 million Naira (roughly £50000 or $66000). Being a doctor myself, I know that: A) Adanna’s sex and age gives her a good fighting chance however the time from diagnosis to initiation of treatment is very critical to prevent progression of disease to other parts of her body and worse still multiple infections which tends to be the most feared complication in children with leukaemia. B) The treatment for leukaemia can go on for 2 years in girls and even more in boys.
This family are already out of pocket from paying hospital bills and buying supplies needed during this supportive treatment phase. You would agree with me that they need all the financial help they can get while dealing with the psychological and emotional turmoil that comes with a diagnosis of “the big C”. I could have contributed my widows mite and silently walked away when I saw her pictures and videos on facebook because prior to my ringing her mum today to get a bit of insight into the situation and permission for this fundraiser, I did not know this family personally.
I however could not bring myself to just donate and walk away knowing that this little one has the potential to live a long healthy life if she were in a different clime or at least had the funds to access the treatment she needs ASAP. Seeing that a lot of time has passed and that my widow’s mite would definitely not move the needle on the scale in achieving the target of 25 million Naira, I have decided to leverage the power of gofundme to help her parents who live in Nigeria gain wider/international reach.
I therefore appeal to anyone and everyone who might be touched by this message to please help me bring this family closer to the financial target of the treatment cost and give little Adanna a shot at living a long healthy life. All donations made here will be transferred across to her Nigerian account via a trusted online money transfer site. No child deserves to suffer from cancer and if they do, they do not deserve to die from it especially where the cancer in question is curable. Nothing is too small and every little helps. If you are not in a position to donate at the moment.
kindly share this gofundme link amongst your friends and associates. Thanks in advance.
